Arms of Ujarma Dedication Brooch — A Tribute to King Dachi the 1st of Ujarma
Inspiration & Heritage
This exquisite piece draws its lineage from the golden age of Georgia under King Dachi (also known as Dachi of Iberia), son of Vakhtang I Gorgasali, who reigned circa 522-534 AD. King Dachi was given the epithet Ujarmeli — “of Ujarma” — for having made Ujarma his royal residence and base, expanding its fortress-palaces, rebuilding citadels, commissioning churches, and deepening Christianity in the highland regions.
Ujarma, with its walls and towers perched above the river Iori, once stood as a fortress-town of strategic, spiritual, and imperial importance. Under Dachi’s rule it flourished. The legacy of its stones, its churches, its gates endure as symbols of strength, faith, and sovereignty
Design & Materials
-
The coat of arms portrayed in this piece is cast in 24 karat gold, reflecting the golden warmth of Georgian sunlit mountains, the royal dignity of ancient kings, and the timeless value of Dachi’s legacy.
-
Finest diamonds are set to mimic grape-clusters, vines, or precious elements found in Georgian iconography, as a nod to the vineyards, the fertility, the noble roots of the land.
-
Atop the shield sits a crown, signifying the royal dignity of the Kings dynasty, the rule of Vakhtang, Dachi, and their successors.
Symbolic Elements
-
The shield echoes the fortified ramparts of Ujarma’s citadel, under which King Dachi walked his land, sitting in councils, defending his people.
-
The grape leaves or vine motif recalls Georgian viticulture, the land’s bounty, its ancient ties to earth and wine — life, civilization, ritual.
-
Brilliant diamonds symbolize faith, purity, and the treasured legacy of Georgian Orthodoxy, which deepened under Dachi’s reign.
Connection Between Jewel & History
Wearing this pin is, in essence, wearing a piece of history: the stones that once echoed with the footsteps of King Dachi, the halls where decisions were made, the towers he built, the churches he sanctified. It is more than ornament — it is a dedication to the ruler who shaped Ujarma as both fortress and home, a ruler who balanced martial strength with religious devotion, who constructed citadels but also built the heart of faith.
Craftsmanship & Prestige
This is a signature limited-edition Guwelry.com creation: each pin individually polished, the gold hand-finished, diamonds color-matched to ensure clarity, brilliance, and cohesion with the design. It comes in a custom wooden presentation box lined with velvet, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and a booklet telling the story of Ujarma, Dachi, and the dynasty.
To wear the “Arms of Ujarma” is to align oneself with the heritage of King Dachi — to carry forward that light of early Georgia, of fortresses and faith, of artistry and strength. It is not merely jewelry; it is legacy.
